Our client is a well established international financial market operator in Hong Kong, offering exposure to large-scale market infrastructure, regulatory, and cross-border capital market activities.
Your new role
As an enforcement litigator, you are responsible for investigating and prosecuting breaches of listing and market regulations. The role involves acting as an internal “prosecutor” in disciplinary proceedings, assessing potential misconduct by listed issuers, directors, and other relevant parties, and pursuing appropriate regulatory and disciplinary outcomes.
Key responsibilities typically include:
- Conducting investigations into suspected breaches of listing and disclosure obligations
- Managing disciplinary and enforcement proceedings, including preparation of cases for hearing before internal committees
- Advising on enforcement strategy, sanctions, and settlement of disciplinary matters
- Liaising with listed companies, directors, legal advisers, and other professional parties
- Coordinating with external regulators and law‑enforcement authorities where matters may involve broader legal or regulatory issues
- Contributing to market integrity, deterrence of misconduct, and enhancement of corporate governance standards
What you'll need to succeed
- Qualified lawyer, with at least 12 years’ working experience in civil litigation
- Broad and deep knowledge of investigative techniques and procedures
- An experienced leader capable of motivating, mentoring and developing legal/professional staff (including experienced lawyers)
- A strategic, creative and lateral thinker with excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, and an ambition to improve through adaption and innovation.
- Good command of written and spoken English and Chinese (proficiency in Putonghua is preferred)
- Strong interpersonal and advocacy skills
- Work commitment, team player, and ability to multitask and work efficiently
