TMT Head of Investment, Stationed in SEA

Responsible for leading the firm’s investment strategy
Your new role
Deal Origination & Pipeline Development
  • Lead sourcing of M&A opportunities through networks, bankers, industry contacts, and proprietary channels
  • Develop and maintain a strong deal pipeline aligned with investment strategy
  • Build relationships with corporates, founders, advisors, and intermediaries
  • Identify off-market opportunities and thematic investment trends
Deal Evaluation & Execution
  • Oversee end-to-end transaction execution (screening → due diligence → structuring → closing)
  • Lead commercial, financial, and operational due diligence
  • Develop and review financial models, valuation analyses (DCF, comparable, LBO if applicable)
  • Structure transactions, negotiate terms, and manage deal documentation
  • Coordinate internal teams and external advisors (legal, financial, tax)
Investment Strategy
  • Define M&A strategy aligned with firm objectives (e.g., buy-and-build, sector focus, geographic expansion)
  • Identify key sectors, themes, and target profiles
  • Optimize capital allocation across deals
Portfolio Value Creation
  • Work with portfolio companies on:
    • Integration planning and execution
    • Synergy identification and delivery
    • Strategic repositioning and growth initiatives
  • Monitor portfolio performance and oversee exit strategies (IPO, trade sale, secondary sale)
Investment Committee & Governance
  • Lead investment memos, present deals to IC, and drive approval processes
  • Ensure robust governance, risk assessment, and compliance
  • Maintain strong documentation and audit trails
Stakeholder Management
  • Engage with senior stakeholders, board members, and investors
  • Partner with capital raising / IR teams on deal narratives
  • Represent the firm in negotiations and market interactions

What you'll need to succeed

Education & Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Business, or related field; MBA preferred
  • Chinese speaking is a must
  • CFA / CPA or equivalent is a plus
  • 12–20 years in M&A, private equity, corporate development, or investment banking
  • Strong track record of leading and closing transactions
  • Experience managing full deal lifecycle and post-acquisition value creation
  • Background in relevant sectors (optional depending on focus: TMT, healthcare, consumer, etc.)
  • Deep expertise in valuation, financial modelling, and deal structuring
  • Strong negotiation and execution skills
  • Strategic thinking with strong commercial acumen
  • Leadership and team management capability
  • Strong network within investment banking and corporate ecosystems
