The role is based in Hong Kong with strong regional collaboration.

Your new role

As a Technical Sales Engineer, you will drive business development while providing deep technical support for coreless motors and control systems.

Key responsibilities include:
  • Propose integrated solutions combining motors, drivers, and microcontroller-based control systems.
  • Work with overseas motor makers, Japanese mid-sized manufacturers, and Chinese semiconductor partners.
  • Develop new overseas customers and support sales growth with the Hong Kong team.
  • Engage R&D centres of Japanese companies in China.
  • Prepare technical proposals and block diagrams.
  • Resolve system-level issues in areas such as thermal design, EMC, vibration/noise, and prototype evaluation.

What you'll need to succeed

Industry Background
  • Experience in motor development or business development (e.g., Nidec, Mabuchi).
  • Hands‑on involvement in motor sales expansion, customer support, and quality troubleshooting.
  • Experience working with overseas clients.
Technical Skills
  • Strong knowledge of coreless motors and motor characteristics.
  • Understanding of motor drivers, inverter circuits, sensors, and microcontroller selection.
  • Experience with motor control algorithms, PWM tuning, and firmware development.
  • Familiarity with communication protocols (UART, I²C, SPI, CAN).
  • Ability to design system block diagrams and select components balancing cost and performance.
Communication & Language
  • Native in Japanese or N1
  • Able to read datasheets, diagrams, and technical documents.
  • Strong whiteboard‑level technical communication skills.
  • English ability equivalent to TOEIC 700+.
Personal Traits
  • Outgoing, relationship‑driven, and comfortable with customer engagement.
  • Enjoys frequent international travel.
