Our client is a leading hospitality group and is looking for a highly skilled and experienced Senior Strategic Procurement Manager. The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing the procurement activities related to both food and non-food categories within our organisation. This role requires a strategic thinker with excellent negotiation skills, exceptional vendor management abilities, and a deep understanding of the hospitality industry's unique procurement challenges.
Your new role
- Develop and implement comprehensive procurement strategies for the food and non-food categories, aligned with the organisation's goals and objectives.
- Conduct thorough market research and analysis to identify potential suppliers, evaluate their capabilities, and maintain a robust supplier base.
- Continuously monitor market trends, industry regulations, and emerging technologies to stay up to date with the latest developments in the hospitality procurement landscape.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams (such as culinary, operations, finance, and quality assurance) to understand their requirements and ensure procurement strategies meet their needs.
- Identify areas for process improvement within the procurement function and implement best practices to drive operational excellence.
- Leverage technology solutions to automate manual processes and enhance data analytics capabilities for better decision-making.
- Lead the sourcing process, including issuing RFIs, RFQs, and RFPs, evaluating proposals, negotiating contracts, and selecting suppliers
- Developing and maintaining strong relationships with key suppliers, fostering partnerships and driving continuous improvement in supplier performance.
What you'll need to succeed
- Bachelor's degree in business administration, supply chain management, or a related field.
- Minimum of 8 years of experience in strategic procurement, specifically within the hospitality industry.
- In-depth knowledge of food and non-food procurement categories, including market dynamics, pricing mechanisms, and supplier landscape.
- Strong negotiation skills with a proven track record of achieving cost savings and favourable contract terms.
- Experience in strategic sourcing methodologies, including conducting RFIs, RFQs, and RFPs, supplier evaluation, and contract negotiation.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to analyse complex data and make informed decisions.
- Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build relationships and influence stakeholders at various levels of the organisation.
- Strong project management skills, with the ability to prioritise and manage multiple initiatives simultaneously.
