An exciting opportunity for a seasoned Senior Legal Counsel to advise on high-net-worth insurance solutions, offshore policy structures, and multi-jurisdictional regulatory matters. The successful candidate will partner closely with senior stakeholders to drive the growth of an evolving global wealth and insurance platform.
Your new role
- Advise on sophisticated insurance and wealth structuring solutions designed for ultra-high-net-worth clients, families, and private wealth platforms.
- Support the design and implementation of offshore risk-planning arrangements, including trust-owned structures and Bermuda-issued policies across various international jurisdictions.
- Lead the review and negotiation of commercial and risk-transfer documentation, including insurance contracts, distribution arrangements, and reinsurance frameworks.
- Navigate cross-border insurance distribution rules, regulatory licensing considerations, and market-entry requirements across multiple regions.
- Serve as a key legal partner to senior management, providing commercially driven guidance on strategic business initiatives and emerging regulatory developments.
- Collaborate with Compliance, Risk, Operations, and distribution teams to strengthen governance standards and ensure regulatory alignment.
- Oversee relationships with domestic and international legal advisers, coordinating legal support across multiple jurisdictions.
- Manage regulatory examinations, supervisory enquiries, contentious matters, and other legal challenges impacting HNW insurance business lines.
- Develop internal governance frameworks, best-practice guidelines, and educational materials covering offshore insurance, reinsurance and cross-border distribution matters.
What you'll need to succeed
- 8–15+ PQE lawyer qualified in a common law jurisdiction.
- Proven expertise in HNW insurance, wealth structuring, and premium financing structures.
- Familiarity with offshore insurance regimes and cross-border insurance distribution frameworks.
- Experience from leading insurers, financial institutions, or private wealth practices preferred.
- Commercially minded, independent, and confident managing sophisticated cross-border matters.
- Strong communication, drafting, and stakeholder management capabilities.
