A biomedical organisation is looking for a Research Assistant (Genome Curation - Next Genome Sequencing) to join their team.
Your new role
- Support the development and management of the genome curation platform for next-generation sequencing (NGS) data.
- Assist Research Officer in developing processes or models for variant prioritisation.
- Receive on-the-training in tertiary analysis for whole genome sequencing (WGS) data.
- Exposure to data mining, curation and interpretation of genome sequencing results following current international standards.
What you'll need to succeed
- Bachelor’s degree or above in Biomedical Sciences, Genetic Sciences, Health Sciences, Medical Statistics, Biological Sciences, or related disciplines.
- Fresh graduates with basic knowledge and research experience in research studies, with a willingness to receive on-the-job training
- Knowledge of NGS technology data generation and format is preferred.
- Good command of data wrangling and programming languages such as Python or R.
- Track records of genome research publications in international peer-reviewed journals are preferred.
- Knowledge in the analysis of cancer genomes, single-cell sequencing, and long-read sequencing data is a plus.
- Experience in patient care, clinical research, and the use of digital health technologies in healthcare settings is an advantage.
