About the Role
We are seeking a hands-on and strategic Head of IT to lead and shape the technology function within a growing financial services business. This is a unique opportunity for a senior technologist who thrives in a small, agile team and enjoys balancing strategy, architecture, and hands-on delivery. You will be responsible for driving IT strategy, ensuring robust and secure systems, and enabling business growth through scalable technology solutions.


Key Responsibilities

  • Define and execute the overall IT strategy and roadmap aligned with business objectives.
  • Oversee daily IT operations, infrastructure, and applications in a lean environment
  • Act as a hands-on leader, supporting both strategic initiatives and operational delivery
  • Ensure cybersecurity, data protection, and regulatory compliance
  • Manage third-party vendors, service providers, and technology partners
  • Lead system enhancements, digital transformation initiatives, and automation projects
  • Develop and maintain business continuity and disaster recovery plans
  • Provide leadership and mentorship to a small IT team, fostering a high-performance culture
  • Work closely with senior stakeholders to translate business needs into technology solutions
Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or related discipline
  • Fluency in English and Mandarin
  • 15+ years of IT experience, with at least 3–5 years in a leadership role
  • Prior experience in financial services (e.g. banking, wealth management, insurance, fintech) is essential.
  • Proven ability to operate effectively in a small team / hands-on role
  • Strong understanding of IT infrastructure, cloud platforms, cybersecurity, and enterprise systems
  • Familiarity with regulatory and compliance requirements in Hong Kong financial services
  • Experience managing vendors and outsourced environments
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills
