Our client is a leading digital entertainment company that specialises in blockchain, gamification, and Artificial Intelligence (AI) technologies. They are committed to providing innovative and engaging entertainment experiences to its customers, while also leveraging cutting-edge technologies to enhance the user experience. They are seeking a Paralegal to join their legal team in Hong Kong. This position will be responsible for providing legal support to the company and its subsidiaries, assisting with contract management, and ensuring compliance with relevant laws and regulations.
Your new role
Policy Formulation and Implementation: Develop and implement compliance policies and procedures, ensuring the organization’s alignment with legal and regulatory mandates.
Risk Assessment and Mitigation Strategies: Conduct thorough assessments of KYC and AML risks. Develop effective strategies and action plans to mitigate these identified risks.
Vigilant Compliance Monitoring: Diligently monitor adherence to laws, regulations, and industry standards. Swiftly identify any areas of non-compliance and take proactive measures.
Employee Training and Awareness: Provide comprehensive training and education to employees on critical compliance matters, including anti-bribery, anti-corruption, and data privacy.
Incident Investigation and Resolution: Investigate compliance-related incidents, complaints, or concerns meticulously. Take decisive and appropriate action to address any issues promptly.
Transparent Reporting: Regularly report to senior management and regulatory bodies on the organization’s compliance status, ensuring transparency and accountability.
Precise Record Keeping: Maintain meticulous records of compliance activities, including audits and investigations, to demonstrate the organization’s fulfilment of regulatory requirements.
Stakeholder Engagement: Cultivate and sustain relationships with regulatory bodies and auditors, staying informed about regulatory changes and compliance expectations.
What you'll need to succeed
- Bachelor's degree in Law / Business / Risk or relevant field
- 5+ years of experience in AML or general compliance, preferably in a financial institution / fintech / technology company
- Strong organisational and time management skills
- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Excellent command of English
