• Develop and implement the buying strategy for the APAC market, aligned with the company's overall objectives and brand positioning.
• Conduct market research and analysis to identify emerging trends, customer preferences, and competitive landscape, and translate these insights into actionable buying decisions.
• Build and maintain strong relationships with suppliers, negotiating favourable terms and conditions, including pricing, quality, and delivery schedules.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including design, marketing, and sales, to ensure seamless integration of buying activities with other departments.
• Monitor inventory levels and sales performance, adjusting buying plans as necessary to optimise product availability and meet sales targets.
• Manage the product assortment, ensuring a well-balanced and diverse range of merchandise that caters to the preferences and needs of the French-speaking market.
• Staying up to date with industry trends, attending trade shows, fashion weeks, and other relevant events, and leveraging this knowledge to inform buying decisions.
• Lead, mentor, and develop a high-performing buying team, fostering a culture of collaboration, innovation, and continuous improvement.
  
  

What you'll need to succeed

• Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Fashion Merchandising, or a related field
• Proven experience as a Buying Director or in a similar role within the sports fashion and apparel industry.
• Fluent in French and English, with excellent verbal and written communication skills in both languages. Additional language proficiency is a plus.
• In-depth knowledge of sports fashion trends, consumer behaviour, and retail operations.
• Strong analytical and strategic thinking abilities, with the capacity to interpret market data and translate it into effective buying strategies.
• Demonstrated negotiation skills and experience in managing supplier relationships.
• The ability to lead and inspire a team, fostering a collaborative and results-oriented work environment.
• Exceptional organisational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritise multiple projects and meet deadlines.
