Reviewing Daily Surveillance Alerts:
- Monitor and analyse alerts generated by our surveillance platform for equities and derivatives products.
- Investigate any suspicious trading behaviour identified through alerts.
- Collaborate with colleagues to assess potential risks and escalate issues as necessary
Market Surveillance Projects and Enhancements:
- Participate in market surveillance-related projects, contributing to system enhancements and process improvements.
- Stay informed about industry trends and regulatory changes to enhance our surveillance capabilities.
- Effective Communication:
- Liaise with system users, regulators, external vendors, and internal stakeholders.
- Provide clear and concise updates on surveillance findings and investigations.
System Calibration and Maintenance:
- Calibrate and analyse surveillance system settings to optimise detection accuracy.
- Ensure the system remains effective in identifying unusual trading patterns.
Workflow Automation:
- Explore opportunities to automate daily workflows, improving efficiency and accuracy.
- Implement controls to enhance surveillance processes.
Reporting and Data Analytics:
- Prepare presentation materials for routine and ad-hoc reporting to management and regulators.
- Utilise data analytics to identify trends and patterns in trading activities
What you'll need to succeed
- University degrees in Finance, Financial Engineering, Information Technology, Computer Sciences, Information Systems or related disciplines are preferred.
- Strong knowledge of the securities and derivatives markets and products, including equities, fixed income, rates and currencies
- Good knowledge of HKEX rules and regulations as well as SFO, SFC codes and guidelines
- Solid understanding of market surveillance systems (e.g. SMARTS) is preferred
- Good knowledge of machine learning and automation techniques is an advantage
- Strong command of written and spoken English and Chinese, with solid communication and presentation skills
