A leading Hong Kong–based pharmaceutical manufacturer with a strong reputation for product safety, regulatory compliance, and continuous improvement. The company serves both local and international markets with high-quality healthcare and consumer healthcare products. They are looking for a commercially minded Procurement Officer to join their growing team. This role will support end-to-end procurement activities while playing a key role in enabling new product development and innovation initiatives.
Your new role
- Source, evaluate and appoint qualified suppliers in alignment with the company’s procurement strategy and operational requirements.
- Partner closely with R&D, regulatory, and marketing teams to support new product development projects, including sourcing of new raw materials, ingredients, and packaging.
- Identify and qualify new suppliers to support product innovation, formulation changes, and new product launches
- Lead commercial negotiations and manage supplier contracts to achieve optimal commercial terms and service performance
- Conduct cost analysis and feasibility assessments for new products, ensuring alignment with target margins and timelines
- Monitor inventory levels and coordinate purchase orders to maintain appropriate stock availability
- Collaborate with internal departments to understand procurement requirements and provide timely support
- Track, analyse and report procurement performance indicators, identifying opportunities for cost savings and process enhancements.
- Ensure all procurement activities adhere to internal policies, standard operating procedures and applicable regulatory requirements
- Support the implementation of procurement process improvements and system optimisation initiatives
What you'll need to succeed
- Degree holder or above, preferably in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Business or a related discipline
- Minimum 3 years of relevant experience in procurement or supply chain functions; experience supporting new product development or working with R&D teams is a definite advantage.
- Exposure to FMCG, pharmaceutical, or manufacturing environments is highly preferred.
- Demonstrated competence in supplier negotiation, contract management and relationship development
- Experience of sourcing new materials or managing supplier qualification for new projects is a plus.
- Strong communication and stakeholder engagement skills, with the ability to work effectively across functions including R&D and marketing
- Proficient in procurement systems and analytical tools, with a data-driven approach to decision-making
- Sound understanding of supply chain management principles and best practices
- Proficiency in English and Cantonese; Mandarin is a plus
- Candidates with less experience may be considered for the Assistant Procurement Officer position.
