Your new company
A Hong Kong–based investment platform is seeking a Legal Counsel to support its investment activities and affiliated fund and asset management businesses. The role will provide legal, regulatory, compliance and risk management support across the platform and its investment vehicles, working closely with senior management and business teams in Hong Kong and Mainland China.
Your new role
- Advisory: Act as a key advisor to the Branch on legal risk
- Litigation Management: Oversee and manage all litigation matters, instructing external counsel effectively to protect the Bank’s interest and reputation
- Contract Drafting & Review: Lead the drafting, negotiation and review of commercial contracts and
- Training: Organise and provide training on legal matters to staff
- Coordination: Coordinate with the Head Office and overseas branches to ensure the practice of the branch remains in line with the bank-wide legal standard.
- Compliance Partnership: Work closely with the compliance function to evaluate the legal impact of compliance issues, ensuring that regulatory issues are addressed with sound legal solutions
What you'll need to succeed
- Hong Kong qualified lawyer with at least 3–8 years of PQE;
- Prior experience in the banking or finance industry or knowledge in banking is highly preferred;
- Experience and knowledge in commercial litigation is essential;
- Possess excellent contract drafting and interpretation skills;
- Excellent command of written and spoken English and Chinese (Proficiency in Mandarin is a significant advantage)
