Your new company

An established international banking group with a strong Asia‑Pacific presence is seeking to appoint a Legal Counsel to join its Hong Kong legal team. This role supports a broad range of banking and financial services activities, with a particular focus on cross‑border matters and regional business initiatives. The position offers exposure to senior stakeholders, a stable platform, and the opportunity to work closely with the business in a highly commercial environment.


Your new role

  • Provide legal advice and support across a range of banking products and services, including corporate banking, trade finance, lending, and treasury‑related activities
  • Draft, review, and negotiate a variety of commercial and financial agreements
  • Advise on regulatory and compliance‑related matters relevant to Hong Kong and regional banking operations
  • Support cross‑border transactions and liaise with external counsel as required
  • Work closely with internal stakeholders across business, risk, and compliance functions
  • Assist with internal policies, governance matters, and ongoing legal risk management


What you'll need to succeed

  • Qualified lawyer with 5 to 10 years’ PQE (flexible depending on experience)
  • Prior experience gained within a bank, financial institution, or reputable law firm
  • Strong familiarity with banking, finance, or financial services‑related legal work
  • Able to operate confidently in a front‑office‑facing, business‑partnering role
  • Practical, solutions‑driven mindset with strong stakeholder management skills
  • Fluency in English is essential; Chinese / Mandarin skills are advantageous.
