Your new company

My client is one of the top-tier foreign banks in Hong Kong. They are currently seeking a highly motivated lawyer with Fintech experience to join their team.

Your new role

• Assist the new business in launching its app in new markets
• Provide legal advice and guidance on all aspects of legal risk related to developing, launching, marketing and operating wallet and payment apps in multiple markets, including regulatory/licencing issues.
• Seek and present advice from others (e.g. external counsel) when needed
• Write customer facing terms and conditions and advise on the creation of customer service and other policies and procedures
• Help negotiate contracts with third party tech, marketing and other vendors and partners, with the support of the Group’s wider Legal function as needed
• Work with data privacy and protection, risk and compliance and other colleagues to ensure that the new business complies with all applicable legal and regulatory requirements in a global context.
• Build, maintain and own strong relationships internally within the business, especially with commercial, marketing, technology and regulatory personnel.
• Build and maintain external relationships with third parties, such as external legal advisors, regulators and industry forums as appropriate
• Engage with the wider legal community within the Group’s support the wider legal team with matters related to wider legal risk as appropriate

What You’ll Need to Succeed

• Qualified lawyers with international law firm experience or background are preferred.
• Excellent communication skills as this is a role with high business contact
• Legal expertise in areas relevant to consumer fintech such as licencing and authorisation, multi-currency operations, payment and cross border transactions, digital banking models and digital wallets. Familiarity with related laws such as marketing, commercial contract negotiation, etc
