Your new role
- Lead, coach, and develop a team of engineers, fostering a culture of innovation, accountability, and continuous improvement.
- Build strong technical capabilities and enhance cross-functional collaboration
- Oversee the full product life cycle from concept, prototyping, testing through to mass production.
- Ensure engineering deliverables align with design intent, quality standards, and cost targets
- Provide technical leadership across mechanical design, materials engineering, and electronics integration
- Review and validate engineering designs to ensure feasibility, safety, and manufacturability
- Partner closely with the US design team to translate creative concepts into practical engineering solutions
- Act as a key bridge between design and manufacturing teams across regions
- Manage relationships with manufacturing partners in China, ensuring smooth production processes
- Oversee quality control, production troubleshooting, and continuous process improvements
- Develop and execute project timelines, resource planning, and risk mitigation strategies
- Apply structured project management methodologies such as Gantt charts and Agile frameworks
- Drive engineering best practices, cost optimisation, and product innovation
- Identify opportunities to improve efficiency, product performance, and speed-to-market
What you'll need to succeed
- Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering, Electrical Engineering, or related discipline
- Minimum 7 years of experience in product development and engineering management within consumer goods, toys, or related industries
- Strong knowledge of manufacturing processes including injection moulding, electronics integration, and quality assurance
- Proficiency in CAD tools such as SolidWorks and AutoCAD
- Proven leadership experience managing cross-functional and multicultural teams
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a hands-on approach
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
- Passion for design, creativity, and innovation
