Desktop systems and services consultant

What you'll need to succeed

Oversee the daily operation of Help Desk and Desktop Services to ensure a stable and secured infrastructure environment is maintained

  • Supervise and coach team(s) of system consultants and engineers providing system administration support so that day-to-day activities can be processed timely with good quality
  • Maintain a stable environment for the Desktop and OA devices and ensure the patches are deployed per schedule
  • Provide technical solution on system hardware, software and security for business and infrastructure projects
  • Design desk side infrastructure and architecture as per business strategy and assist in IT strategies / policy planning
  • Ensure related regulatory, audit and internal control requirements are met
  • Improve the productivity and reduce system administration overhead by using innovative technology
  • Ensure HW and SW are covered by Maintenance Agreement by initiate the review, price negotiation and vendor coordination. Derive the cost allocation of IT service and maintenance
  • Provide on-call standby support during non-office hours


  • Degree holder in Computer Science or Information Technology or related disciplines
    Holder of CISSP/CISA, ITIL, MCSE or PMP certification is preferred
  • Minimum 8 years’ experience in Desktop / Help Desk, preferably gained in banking or finance industry, of which at least 5 years are at supervisory level
  • Proven project management experience in enterprise systems
  • Management or design experience in Desktop / Office / Outlook / File & Print / SQL / IE / Teller Platform / Check Imaging System / Securities / Online Banking / FX Trading System / Video Wall, Videoconferencing as well as Trading Room support is required
  • Exposure to DNS / WINS / DHCP / TCP / IP / firewall / proxy is preferred
  • Good command of spoken and written English and Chinese (both Cantonese and Putonghua)
  • Solid interpersonal, communication and organizational skills with good team spirit
  • Good negotiation, vendor management and influential skill
