A well-known food manufacturer is looking for a Japanese-speaking Business Development Manager in Hong Kong.

Your new role

• Responsible for preparation and implementation of budget and annual operating plan
• Ensure sales and profit targets, and market penetration and market share targets are aligned with agreed direction
• Work closely with distributors in Japan to plan and implement new products launch, pricing strategy, advertising and promotion programs, as well as an appropriate level of inventory for operation
• Manage distributors by continuously review, guide, and monitor their performance in Japan market
• Evaluate the effectiveness of the sales and marketing programs so as to ensure the marketing resources are consistently used effectively
• Coordinate with internally functional teams, i.e. Production, Procurement, Import & Export, etc. to ensure timely supply of products and provide customer services to meet the needs of distributors
• Develop new business channels for company products
• Handle the ad hoc projects as assigned

What you'll need to succeed

• University graduate in Business, Marketing or related disciplines
• 3-5 years’ strong track record in Sales & Marketing (Modern Trade/Retail) function, preferable in FMCG/Food industry sector
• Previous work experience in Japan and understanding Japan market and its dynamic is a MUST
• Work independently under pre-agreed guidelines
• Good team player and appreciate corporate culture and value
• Proactive and with good communication and negotiation skills in working with business partners
• Proficient in spoken and written Japanese and Chinese is a MUST, English is an added benefit
• Proficient in PC software e.g. MS Word, Excel and PowerPoint
• Willing to travel (inbound Japan and occasionally travel to PRC
