Our client is an EU-found international logistics solution provider. They are looking for an Air-freight Solution Manager to join their team. In this role, you are pivotal in developing and optimising our logistics services, ensuring seamless operations from Asia to Australia. As the Air-Freight Solution Manager, you will conduct in-depth market research on the Australian delivery landscape, focusing on B2C cross-border e-commerce flows.
Your new role
- Conduct in-depth market research on the Australian delivery landscape to understand available solutions for cross-border e-commerce flows B2C.
- Investigate the last-mile delivery market B2C in Australia, identify potential partners, and, with support from the central procurement team, negotiate and secure contracts with selected partners.
- Gain comprehensive knowledge of the freight market to identify opportunities for optimising the middle mile.
- Cultivate and maintain relationships with airlines and freight forwarders to ensure adequate freight capacity for Spring when needed.
- Stay informed about customs clearance regulations and identify potential customs clearance partners to ensure seamless operations.
- Establish and nurture partnerships with customs clearance brokers.
- Develop optimal routing solutions by connecting freight, customs clearance, and last-mile delivery into Australia.
- Collaborate with IT development, procurement, and the central business development teams to create a portfolio of solutions tailored to the Australian market.
- Support product management in developing competitive and profitable propositions for the Australian market.
- Monitor competitor activity to understand positioning, pricing, and service levels in the Australian market.
- Continuously track trends and developments in freight, clearance, and delivery markets to identify opportunities for optimisation.
- Manage and optimise the performance of destination Australia across key KPIs—performance, cost, and customer experience.
What you'll need to succeed
- A Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, or a related field.
- A minimum of 5 years of experience in developing and managing e-commerce last-mile solutions, preferably in the Australian market.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- A hands-on approach with a flexible mindset, capable of adapting to changing needs.
- A proactive learner with the persistence to grasp complex details.
- A results-driven and customer-focused attitude.
- Experience in a multicultural, international team environment.
- Proficiency in both spoken and written English.
