Teachers of multiple subjects, such as both Maths and Physics or Art and English, are in demand as educational institutions seek staffing flexibility. Also sought are higher level Physics, Chemistry and Maths teachers due to the popularity of such subjects with Chinese students.
Given the increased number of Chinese students wanting to attend American universities, teachers with American teaching experience as well as IB experience are in demand. The higher standards of English required for acceptance into such universities has created a need for those capable of teaching academic English.
Finally, supply teachers able to work for short periods at short notice are needed as cover for absent teachers, such as when they attend training.
The coming quarter
Vacancy activity will increase as schools start the recruitment process for the next academic year.
