LAUNCH OF THE 2010 HAYS SALARY GUIDE
Change is coming...
The third annual Hays Salary Guide was launched in Hong Kong today. While the market is still on the road to recovery, it would seem change is coming.
"2009 was a tough year for many in Asia but the beginning of a steady recovery is already taking place,” said Nigel Heap, Managing Director of Hays Asia Pacific. “There is new optimism in the market and many employers have indicated they will increase staff levels in 2010.”
The Guide is based on the results of a survey completed by over 650 employers as well as the recent placements made by Hays offices across Asia. It will reveal such information as the typical salaries of more than 500 roles across four countries as well as those skills that will be in high demand in 2010.
“In accountancy & finance for example, there’s higher demand for professionals within Audit, Compliance, Financial Reporting and Internal Controls functions. We’re also expecting skill shortages in areas such as IFRS, China GAAP and Basel II,” continued Nigel.
“An encouraging sign for 2010 is that one third of all employers surveyed intend to award increases between three and six per cent. So looking forward, competition for the best talent will be increasingly high."
The Hays Salary Guide presents key recruiting trends across Asia. It also provides insight into the recovery and some of the changes we"re anticipating in 2010 as a result.
