Specialist recruiter Hays will launch its second annual Hays Asia Salary Survey in Beijing this Thursday evening, 19 February, at Lantung Bar Bistro. A range of clients will attend the event in order to gain further insight into key salary trends across a number of specialist areas in China.
The 2009 survey evaluates the salaries on offer within Accountancy & Finance, Banking, Finance Technology and Information Technology, Construction & Property, Oil & Gas and Legal, with the new additions of Human Resources, Sales & Marketing and Pharmaceutical.
"The data, based on feedback from employers, reveals a new market dynamic in China with a powerful shift from the economic position a year ago," explains Vanessa Cumbers, Regional Director of Hays China. "A number of industry trends have surfaced in response to economic pressures from around the world".
The results, announced in a press release on 5 February, indicate that employers and employees must adjust to a patchy market: certain sectors are enjoying increased candidate availability while others are experiencing persistent shortages.
"The true picture will not become clear until recruitment budgets are reviewed in the first quarter of 2009," continues Cumbers. "The outlook is positive but somewhat subdued, with continued growth in a select number of sectors.
The event will commence at 6pm with an opportunity for professionals from different sectors to network following the presentation. Salary information sheets for all specialist sectors are available here.
